In a heartfelt national event known as the Angel Celebration, nearly 100,000 Iranian teenage girls participated in ceremonies marking their entry into religious responsibility. Rooted in Shia Islamic tradition, this Taklif celebration honors the intellectual and spiritual maturity of girls entering adolescence. The largest event was personally hosted by Ayatollah Khamenei in February 2023, creating an atmosphere of joy, dignity, and spiritual counsel. Despite international narratives suggesting growing secularism among Iranian youth, this ceremony served as a powerful testament to their continuing commitment to Islamic faith.
