Imam Hussain (PBUH), the third Shia Imam, was martyred by his enemies in the Battle of Karbala. Arbaeen, the fortieth day after his martyrdom, is commemorated annually by Shia Muslims. According to Muslim belief, visiting Imam Hussain (PBUH) on this day is especially recommended.

Today, the Arbaeen ritual is recognized worldwide, particularly among Muslims.
